Good bye Ranger. Hello F-150!

Traded in my Ranger a week ago. I got a great deal and a very handsome amount for the Ranger. We got the 4.6 and stuck with the cloth seats. Ride quality is awesome and cabin noise is very minimal. I'm in love. Would have loved to stick with the DSG color but the only one within 200 miles had been in an accident which required the passenger side doors to be replaced.

Plans are to use my Xcal2 and do some datalogging then send off for some tunes. Later on when I've had time to work on my wife I'll be adding an S&B intake, a side swept exhaust and 22's.

My dad has a Corsa exhaust on his 06 F150 (the louder one of the two versions they offer) it sounds really good and is not loud at all until you give it a little, then it gets louder and sounds good without being too loud or too much drone.

Good looking truck.

Is that really an option? The FX2 Sport? Or are those decals?

I know nothing of the new trucks, other then Dodge.

Yeah its a real package. I also think the 5.4L is standard.

2007 Ford F-150 FX2 is an example of how connected Ford is to its customer base because it is being offered as a result of customer demand for the popular FX package on a two-wheel-drive truck. It also continues Ford’s tradition of offering more models, more cab options and more box configurations than any other truck line in North America.

Ford introduced the current F-150 FX4 in the 2004 model year as a specialized truck for the off-road enthusiast seeking rugged 4x4 features, such as shift on the fly and skid plates, and unique styling cues. The new F-150 FX2 carries on the tradition of targeting key customer groups, offering a sport truck aimed at customers looking for a more stylish appearance without the need for 4WD.

“The FX2 is a very different approach for F-150,” says Raj Sarkar, assistant marketing manager for F-150. “It looks aggressive both because of its design and its stance. Younger customers are more image conscious, and this truck makes a style statement.” ....
The package, available on Super Cab and SuperCrew trucks, includes a billet aluminum grill, body-colored accents, a chrome exhaust tip, unique 18" wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, captain's chairs with accented stitching, and a special finish on the center stack and gage cluster.

Doesn't surprise me that they are trying to attract the younger crowd. That truck has got my attention.

Yeah, the Corsa is my first option. But man, it's a lot more than the other brands. I don't know if I can justify spending 700+ on exhaust.

The FX2 comes standard with that style headlight and bumper.

Here's what I really wanted. We just couldn't find one close (except the towing mirrors). I can't complain though. We got our truck for 18,508, out the door!

congrats on the new truck.

i have an s&b intake on my 5.4 as well as a catback system with out any tunes and it's a nice add on, so you'll be pleased with the xcal reprogrammed for the f150.

if you haven't already, check out www.f150online.com ...alon is a member on there, as well as myself and a handful of other guys from this site. it's a pretty good site for f150s.

Well, here's the kick in the crouch. My wife drives the truck... so I haven't been monitoring. I drive around 150+ miles a day to her 35 so I drive her Focus.

We're still on the dealerships fillup so the tracking begins in a few days. It seems like it's getting around the same as my Ranger did but it's hard to tell. I'd say we're getting close to 19 when I drive it..

We had an FX4 for 4 days before our truck was delievered and there is a noticable difference in gas mileage(and power too!). I roughly calculated the FX4 got around 15 on the highway. It was nice driving the FX4 around. The leather and 5.4 were very sweet!

I'm on f150online too as 'deadtokevin'

The FX2 package is very nice. I came <this> close to buying one when that model was released, but I found the price to be a little steep for what was offered. The selling points for me was the front end and interior detail. Very sharp.
