Yea isnt it somthing like "not safe" for the public to drive. I remember That whats his name on trucks stopped making one off trucks for manufacturers because after they would show them they would crush em.

Not anymore, mostly. Most of the test vehicles we get these days are production vehicles that are 'purchased' by the marketing department at the OEM's, loaned out like rental cars, then either sold off at auction or offered to the employees of said OE.

The crushers are all pre-production vehicles. We had a Raptor, Power Wagon, 4-Runner, and H3T out this week, of them the Raptor and H3T are production vehicles and will be sold, while the Power Wagon and 4-Runner were pre-production and will likely be crushed.

It has to do more with not meeting federal crash and safety standards. Usually these vehicles are built before the final sign off thus making them not legal to sell to the public. Some OE's do take the pre-productions back and retrofit them to current standards to be auctioned off, but I think that is getting more rare as the loaning of pre-production vehicles does.

So yea... the Raptors I went out and saw and posted a couple months ago will likely be crushed while this one will most likely be sold off at a dealer auction and sold as a used truck. And I would NEVER buy a vehicle knowing it came out of the press fleet, that's worse than buying a used rental... lol

Those RAptors look awesome, at a local dealer around school they had a black and a white one looked badass they flexed them out on each other.

If its anything like Yamaha's, they dont actually have a working VIN number. As in its invalid in the system . Thats why they can't sell them after.
