so i blew the hell out of the EPA standards for my truck

so i went on a little road trip up to around st. helens near washington, it was the maiden voyage for my scangauge, and i averaged on the trip home 31.5 MPG

That is damn good, I need a sg but do not have the funds yet.. can I borrow yours? lol

I got 26 mpg all hwy once with 31"s..

26 is not bad, the best i ever got on my 30.5's was 24MPG

I've got an automatic so my mpg sucks compared to yalls..

Just gotta wait for this next tank!

i wished i had the 2.3


changing the plugs in the 2.5 is a PITA

its not any better on a 2.3, that is I think they are all dual plug so you have 8 to do!

you do know the 2.5L is the same thing as the old 2.3L right?

it just has a longer stroke.

i put the 2.5L in my 97, i get about 16mpg.

The 2.3 DuraTec DOHC is simple to change plugs on. They're all right there on top of the motor. You just need a spark plug socket with the rubber grommet in it so you don't drop them, and a 6" extension to reach them.

onthe 2.5L's you have to pull the upper intake manifold off, its not too bad if you take your time

you don't have to pull the upper intake just you a swivel socket or a wobel extinction I've done it plenty of times.

If thats the first time you used it, then it is probably not right. You need to do a fillup or two to adjust the percentage and then it will be spot on.
