Added some lighting to the shell, some PICS

Was wanting some better lighting for the shell so I got some led strips, think I will get some cold cathodes next time. These were nice since I could just run a 9 volt on them and not deal with anymore wiring then crimping on a 9 volt battery case.

Oh I will be cleaning up the wiring tomorrow and maybe the bed rug too

My camera sucks at getting this kind of lighting to look decent:

Great idea. Looks good like that. Will be nice and neat once you clean up the wiring some.

Light output is alright, would prefer it to be a little brighter. I will have more feedback when I use it in a really dark area on Thursday. But it is more than the bulb that came with the shell could put out.

Yea, they each have a 9-volt battery case with switches on the case.

He has some other stuff in his ebay store that I just found that might be a little better...

Looks good. I put silicone around all the crack in the bed so that mud wouldn't get in my bed like that anymore. Does a pretty good job.

What happens when you take the shell off?

I haven't had it off since I put it on. I didn't seal the cracks between the bed and shell, just all the cracks and holes in the bed itself.

Those should help. What else do you have wired up back there? I wish I could rock a shell and it look right.

Maybe try weatherstripping in between them.

Didn't you put the weather stripping/ cushion stuff between it? Mine came from the cracks under the bedrail.

That will probably be what I end up going with actually.

Nothing else back there yet. Still have to wire in my third brake light and will be putting in another 12V source back there. Was actually thinking I should head to vatozone and get some of that weatherstripping.

Got it used, and just picked it off his truck and set it onto mine, didn't check underneath to see if it was still there. Just more stuff to fix in the coming months...yay...

I meant to ask that, if running a 9 volt versus running it to the battery would effect the brightness.

It's not bad to put on. It's like $20. All you have to do is take the cap off, put the stuff on the shell or the bed rails and set it back on and you're good to go.
