My 63 Hard Top Project

This is my 63.5 Falcon/Futura Hardtop. This was a half year only body style. Currently it is a 170ci 6 with 2 speed a/t. I've had it for about 10 months. I really enjoyed driving it when I got it. Just cruising down the street with the windows down riding the couch with that huge steering wheel just called me right down. Life just drives by you when you are in this car. It's therapy on wheels, it really is.

Here it is on it's ride home. 25 hour round trip from SoCal back up to NorCal during some ridiculous fires.

So naturally the first thing i did was start collecting parts to bring the end to the peace. It is well on it's way to unruly. The great thing about the early Falcon is that it was where the Mustang came from and a lot of the parts that are made for the Mustang are also made for the Falcon. So I can have that performance and that product support without having to have one of "those".
So I went to Total Control Products and bought a jungle gym for the engine compartment and a complete coilover conversion kit. Then bought 11:75 inch willwood disk brakes for the front.
I have a 302 roller shortblock i'm stroking out to 347ci Victor Jr. Heads, F.A.S.T. XFi and a T5 Manual to put behind it. The car is going to be down for a while. I am on hold for the Rack n Pinion and new steering column and need to send the Explorer 8,8 Disc out for narrowing.
I'm doing the underside in phases. Cleaning, stripping, sealing, undercoating as i remove/replace stuff.

I've also been working on hiding G35 LED taillights inside of the factory taillight. I have one working and am waiting patiently till I find another broken one that I can harvest parts from. I have 38 dollars into the one that I have done. Works really well too.

Couldn't make a youtube link work right so click below for video

Awesome project! If I could ever find a half decent one like that, I couldn't decide on an OEM resto or a stret car, both would be very fun.

Awesome car. I have one that's a 63 but a 4 door. 170 I6 with the Ford-O-Matic. I need the head redone as it doesn't run at the moment. My car is even the same color.
