Found one on ebay and they had a picture of an explorer just like mine with one on it. Should I?

 

should you have one, I dunno, but those guards are as good a quality as any westin for half the price. I had one of theirs on my ranger. Plus if you decide to be different you can unbolt those headlight covers for a police interceptor style push bar.

I think they only good good on lifted trucks.

I go back and forth with mine. It needs to be raised a couple inches because the previous owner drilled new holes to compensate for the body lift...and drilled them too low. Then again if the guard was any higher, the bottom bar on it would cover the tow hooks.

Either way...i had to trim my valence to get it to fit...so its staying on for now. One day I might take it off and get another valence. But i'll probably sell the truck before that.

I love the way it looks from the front...I think it looks mean. From the sides...it looks too bulky.





So my vote for your truck...no. Spend the money elsewhere. I also got mine for cheap...I wouldn't have put it on if I had to pay any more then a hundred bucks

I think the brushguard look is getting very dated. I like mine and use it as intended in the woods getting firewood. I push brush and small maple trees down with it that would scratch the crap out of my valance without it. Then in the spring I pull it off sand the scratches out of in and paint it for the summer. It does hook small trees when backing up with the wheel turned in tight areas.
