The '11 Escape clay & NXT

Our newly acquired Escape Limited (the wifes new daily) had been sitting on a lot in Columbus since October so it was a bit gritty. It's kinda a weird optioned Escape, a fully optioned Limited with the 2.5L 4-cyl. We had some nice weather on Friday so I gave it a clay to rid the gritty stuff on the paint, a coat of Meguires NXT, and Rain-X. Also had to pick up some goo-gone to get rid of the adhesive they use to put the plastic protection on the wheels from the factroy...nasty stuff, hard to get off. It only has 700 miles on the clock so now it actually looks like a new vehicle.. Next project is to get the front door windows tinted to match the rest.

That's the only reason why I don't like it. Actually I haven't used it since because of it.

I like Pinnacle Signature Series II myself. For dark colors I recommend Pinnacle Souveran.

With the way the weather has been around here they don't stay clean anyway...lol. Been pouring rain all day. Oh well, at least it washed all the salt off the roads and hopefully they wont be putting any more down. I've tried Zaino and just about every other quality wax out there. Its just easy and cheap to find Meguires stuff and it's easy to put on and take off. Ours get waxed several times a year so they stay nice.

That's a good looking car! What kind of clay kit did you use? My truck is in need of a clay bar treatment this spring.

I find the cheapest clay bar I can find at walmart or auto parts place and use Meguires Quik-Detailer as the paint lube.
