Some newer rangers come with the 31 spline Torsen diff in them. That's what mine is from. You can also purchase aftermarket gear driven diffs. I know Eaton makes one.

How does that stock limited slip with the springs in them or whatever compare to the Torsen?

The Torsen is a Ford Limited Slip. The Torsen is gear driven, unlike a trutrac that uses clutches and is much more common in ford axles. The aftermarket gear driven limited slips, such as the one made by Eaton, work the same as a Torsen. IMO the gear driven LS is far superior than a clutch driven LS.
