New lights

Finally decided on some lights.... went with the Hella 500 Black Magics. Ordered them Monday and just got them today so I don't have any pics yet of them actually wired up, I just put them on to see how they look! I want to see what they'd look like mounted on top of the safari bar, because I don't like having them blocking my tow hooks... either that or I'll make some sort of hinge/bracket that will allow them to flip down if I need to use the hooks! Keep in mind they've just been bolted on quick, I haven't aimed them or anything (obviously) so they look a little crooked!

Do you have a link where you got em?

Need some output shots as soon as it gets dark

Will do once I get them wired up... hopefully this weekend if I have time! I just ordered them through work. They are part #005750991.

Amazon has them for $101.99. Amazon.com: Hella 005750991 500 Series 12V/55W Black Magic Halogen Driving Lamp Kit: Automotive

For now no more hook access. I want to try and make some sort of mount so they'll hinge down out of the way when I need the hooks or mount the lights on the top of the bar... I don't think that'd look too good though!

gotchya. you could hing em down easily...but clearance between straps and that light would be too close for comfort..

you could try relocating your front plate to ur skid plate and mount the lights in the middle. ull still run the risk of hitting em when u use ur hooks but at least you would be able to get to them.

I was also thinking of doing a front hitch and making a bracket for my license plate. That way I could just take the plate off and hook onto the hitch if need be.

I'm surprised nobody else has used the 500 black magics, since they've been available since last fall

they look awesome! I like the front hitch idea, I loved mine, didn't get to use it a whole ton, but it was still fun! haha and you can just put a d-ring in it or something, or a honda impaler.

I had Hella 500FF's and loved them so much. I think I want to put lights back on my rig now. lol

Those look sweet man. If you want more light Silvana makes a Silverstar H3 light bulb that put out a great pattern in my 500's.

They're all wired up and are working great! I'm definitely going to get some brighter bulbs though.

No pics tonight though, it's been a long day!
