New Truck (Cummins content)

My Brother finally pulled the trigger and got him self a new truck. Its an 07 2500 Diesel 5.9l Cummins. Thing is a beast. Has Exhaust,Intake, Procomp wheels 35" Bfg A/T's and Dodge re-flashed the pcm so it's covered under warranty. Sits on 35's with no lift. Plans are to level it out for now and just drive it. He's getting an average of 17.8Mpg all city.

This thing sounds like a tractor or 18 wheeler. My next vehicle has to be a diesel.

sure it doesnt have a 6.7? pretty sure 06 was the last 5.9, if not i know it was the last clean year before all the urea neutralizers n **** they put on em now. sticks are nice trans will handle a little more power stock when it comes time to tune the motor. that thing should be doing near 20 mpg if they just did the update on the ecu. ive never seen those mirrors before and now that i have they're the uglyest dodge has put on a truck EVER like WTF is e.t. gonna phone home then take your passenger mirror to get there

jake brake? cant see if the button there or not

No jake break. its 5.9 none of the crazy emissions stuff. He can still burn low sulfur diesel (apparently new diesels can't? idk)

27 after taxes tags ect. Yep, 6 speed manual, its got 50k on it which I feel is nothing for a diesel. His payment is 480ish a month including 6 year extended warranty plus the cummins has 100k factory warranty.

Manual trans + newer cummins = lots of turbo lag between shifts. I didn't like it. Maybe being tuned helps, I don't know. I would still take a good automatic in a diesel truck but I don't think dodge makes one. haha

Also has aftermarket rear LED brake lights instead of the factory circular ones they put on 07's and a debadged tailgate.

nice, glad he got rid of those coke can tail lights, the pre 06 lights are the best. i dont dig the stick, my buddy has one and you spend too much time shifting... but the autos are garbage...so lesser of the two evils

4x4 dodges can clear 35s w/o lift..

Once I get some **** paid off, which my truck will be the last part of, I'll probably be on the hunt for a truck just like that.. I regret not getting a Diesel.

I want a diesel bad. I'd love to have a Powerstroke or Cummins.
