History was made yesterday
Well guys I had an awesome weekend. I was able to be part of some history on Sat. I was able to be one of the first people to see and ride in the new 2011 Shelby Gt-350. There are 3 different powerplants available for this car, one being the standard N/A 5.0. Then a supercharged version which is rated at 525. Then if that isn't enough there is the R model/package that is 625hp version with a Ford Racing whipple.
The car was absolutely amazing. I don't know how else to describe it. It has an exhaust note that is like no other. It handles like it's on rails. Boost.....is not even measurable. The car pulls like there is no tomorrow. I'm sorry that the pics are at night. I was busy helping pull a 40th Shelby Gt-500 Terlingua clutch when it was light out. But hopefully I'll get some more pictures next time I see the car. Needless to say it was pretty awesome to ride in the car. This is the FIRST one that has been sold to the public consumer. There have been 525 hp versions that have already had owners take delivery. Anyway on to the pics:
That's all I got... ENJOY!

Neat deal!! I'm still iffy on the looks of those things and the huge premium for 'em. But cool none the less.
And for the official "while it's not dark out" shots....and some spec info, clicky: Shelby releases final specs on GT350 Mustang, power output ranges from fast to furious — Autoblog

Well it's not for everyone Korey....and your entitiled to your opinion, which I disagree with. For what the car cost, and what it can do, there isn't anything better, IMO. But again that's my opinion. :)

I would rather buy a new mustang gt and add my own suspension upgrades and supercharger if I wanted something like that.

I actually agree. The body kit is gay and the center exhaust looks stupid. The plaque by the shifter is cheesy and the gauges look too aftermarket. I'm sure it's a blast to drive but the body kit and exhaust really ruin it, looks trashy almost to me.

Korey,
First of all I am a mustang enthusiast. I OWN my coupe. Second, you guys are all basing your opinions on money. Which is where WE have a difference. I'm not looking at the price tag of the car. I'm looking at the car. I'm looking at what the car is. It's for one, a limited production car. And as of right now, it's the ONLY ONE in existance. Shelby has not built any other Gt350 R models yet. Not to mention that Shelby is on it's way to being bankrupt. For the money there isn't a car out there that is in this price range that can put up the number's that this car can. It is a very well rounded machine, and yes I would buy one. It's the fact that it's going to be a piece of history. It's a shelby. Not some normal GT that you threw some aftermarket parts at. Not everyone can buy a Shelby, that's what makes them special. You guys can't appreciate it. Because you don't understand what a shelby is all about, and that's ok.

Heh, sometime you will have to ride in something that pulls really hard, boosts higher and even handles much better - you might pass out.
