Wish I could go home. But I have tickets for mid January for a wedding already. Seems a bit overkill to buy tickets to go now too. Plus I might not get to see any family. All of the highways between Portland and the coast are closed right now! lol. All the Portland freeways require chains right now. My old roommate got pulled over in his 4x4 Jeep for not being chained up. Bunch of sissies.
I considered looking for cheap tickets and surprising my wife. She just quit her job getting beat up by crazy kids (long story). I don't know, we'll see...

Yeah she needed to quit that place. She'll find something...
What's there to do in Kentucky? Uhhh..... That's what I've been asking. There are lots of whiskey distilleries (makers mark and such). A couple of dried up lakes. Hmm... I don't know. With the free time we could drive to the East Coast or something but hotels are spendy. Could look to visit some people in Tennessee, but it's pretty similar down there.

I guess a road trip is in order, especially since gas prices are so low. Florida is the only warm place that i can think of. But it all depends on if you want to spend the money. have you thought about getting a topper for the 150? then you could get a carpet kit, a power inverter and an electric blanket and you wouldn't have to worry about hotels.

I'm actually wishing for one of these... Most likely used
http://www.fourwh.com/hawk.html
But it sounds like my wife is taking a job that might not pay a whole lot. I'll find out tomorrow. She'll likely get full tuition reimbursement and get a second bachelors or something. Then I can finally have some money to spend hopefully.
I've always wanted to get a camper of some sort so I can travel around and explore relatively comfortably.
I do scan Craigslist regularly to look for used canopies. I bought a new one for the ranger and it was damn expensive so if I buy one again it's going to have to be used.

I was going to ride in the co-pilot's seat of the King Air down to Florida today but my back is killing me the last couple of days. I've flown in the King Air a few times and didn't want to sit in the seat for that long, plus his pilot is dropping him off and coming right back. He flies the rest of the family down (2 or 3 trips) the day after Christmas but the plane will be packed full each time too.

So road trip it may be if I can figure somewhere cool to go and the wife doesn't start work real soon. We need to get passports so I can visit friends in Canada too.

Thatwould be an awesome camper but i noticed the price..... no f*n way. Im sure you can find a used shell on CL. I found mine with the carpet kit for $400. Just a matter of lookin around and findin a deal.
I dont know if id want to go for a ride just to come straight back either, especially if its packed.
Hope all goes well with your girl and you get to do something fun.
Im gonna spend my xmas offshore so please get out and have some fun so i know at least somebody is!

Thanks, I'm aware of the integrated wheel end (vacuum) garbage.
