I was thinking about this today while stripping wall paper.

We spend time to clean our vehical and show them off like prizes after we clean them.

Lets see those engine bays!

now the rules: you can intentionally get your engine dirty just for my thread.

no 'light' cleaning before the clicker. go out, pop your hood, take a pic, close the hood.

Id start but its POURING outside.... so lets see who gets the 'cleanest' and 'dirtiest' awards

Oh and post mileage too...

 

Umm a 1993 Ranger Splash, 113,000 miles on a 4.0. I don't want to hear anything about the intake it cost me a whole $50 and I notice a difference in performance and gas miles, thanks.

My 4.0 recently. About 185,000 miles. I just made that "heat shield" and after driving with an electronic temp. gauge It read about 80 whereas the rest of the engine bay was reading about 120....so is HAS to be helping somewhat!! Right?

 

heres a pic of mine from March... it's taken right after i installed my intake... i didnt touch the engine bay so it was "as-is."

Was taken a couple thousand miles ago but still looks the same. This is when I installed the roush air box.

 

btw my truck JUST rolled 44K. And I havent cleaned my engine since last fall.
