Yes they do. They have settings for fuel economy, race tunes, and a big 140HP tune that will smoke out an intersection.

The chip in my sig is the one i use. I got it from here http://www.itpdiesel.com/store.php/products/DPTuner_F5

I think 140HP might be a little much for my rods lol. Maybe I am too concered but from what I read there only rated for 400RWHP.....not sure what RWHP is stock but isn't crank 280HP stock?

It will be a blast if you throw an intake, exhaust and a chip. Make sure to get an EGT gauge if you will be towing with a chip or programmer though.

No the 140 will be fine. I'm at around 350-400. Stock is around 200 HP at the wheels. I would be gauges too. They are worth the money. Another thing, if you get the programmer, Make sure to get the over-boost annihilator so you don't set off any codes. It fools the map sensor to thing the turbo is putting out normal PSI when it is actually putting out alot more.

I was going to install a Boost and EGT before I do anything to it. I was then going to get a Scan Gauge for the rest of the things I want to know.

Good to know I can push 140 Extra HP.

For SL and 35s.....No lol. Maybe 33s stock

How did trading your truck in go? Mind if I ask what they gave you for it? I too want a Powerstroke, but I'm not going to let a dealership bend me over in order to trade my truck in for one. I really need to stop out and talk to them and see what they say.

Be ready for a story...This is how my Day went....

Woke up at 9am - Look outside, beautiful day, but a little cold out. About 11am I told my GF, "lets go look at trucks"....she gave me that "geezz spending money" grin..haha

I stop at a Used car lot called R and B Car Company near me. They deal with used cars only. I know a few people who have bought vehicles there with good luck.

I stop in a there is a Dodge ram 2500, and a 1500 that catches my eye. A guy name Jack and his boss where standing out side. He asks what I am looking for, I tell him a half ton - 3/4 truck, Hemi, 5.4L, 4-door ect truck. If the price is right I would think about a non 4-door, but would still need to be extended cab. He asks me a price range. I say close as we can get to 15k. (I should have told him lower, o well). We look at a 2500 dodge. Nice looking truck, he tells me we can do that for 15k. I get in and it has 100,000 Miles. I go WHOA too many miles for that price. I then look and its a cummins...but was only 2wd :(. Next he shows me a 5.4 F250. Nice overall, but looks to be a farm vehicle. Not what I want. His boss who was outside smoking goes. We have a F250 Diesel that just came in yesterday on trade. He said it so new on trade they have not even serviced it yet or cleaned it (perfect I said to myself). His boss says he has not ever seen it yet but thinks its a 01 or 02 with 80k miles. He tells me 16,900 is what he wants. It was at there other dealership about 30 mins away. So they give me another vehicle to take to there other dealer. It was a POS 1500 Dodge with a bad windshield leak. I get to the other dealership and go inside and asked for "mike" The guy the original salesman told me to ask for. Mike tells me its in the back. I get back there and it has brake dust on the front rims, its kind of dirty, (like they let rain wash it) The interior is a little dusty, looks like did not sweep it. It was not super dirty just dusty like they just wipe it down with a rag. I notice the rear bed has some clear coat chipping. I also noticed it only had 63,000+ miles...Woot. Not telling them that lol.
I got back in to talk to mike about a test drive. He tells me he does not have a title yet so they do not own it. But if I want to take a test drive at my own risk then I can. I took it for a drive, Mechanically its sound, pulls a little to the left when I brake. I drive it for about 20 mins and bring it back. Mike at this dealer says we only want $15,900 out of it. I then make the 30 mile trek back to the original dealership in the 1500 Dodge beater. Jack comes and greets me and asks how I like it. I tell him it needs new clear coat on the bed and has some minor flaws. He says overall how did you like it and if I can work something out would you buy it? I said yes, if the price is right.
We sit down, he goes looks at my truck. I tell him its been in a wreck and why the hood is chipping. He comes back and says nice truck. Offers me 6k trade. I say no way I was already offered 7k. He then type in 7k and shows me the payments, what the total is between trade and what they want, what tax is, blah blah blah. He kept trying to get me on a set monthly payment but I kept telling him I do not care. Just what total OTD price is. After a few times he find out I am not budging on the scam of telling him what I want my payment to be. He starts talking total price. He then gives me 8k trade at 15,900 for the F250. He says that is as low as his boss can go. I ask if it would be a problem to drive the truck 45 mins away to a mechanic friend to look at. He says no problem. I drive the POS Dodge 1500 back 30 mins to the original dealership to get the F250. I then drive 1 hour to my mechanic friend. We put it on a lift. Needs to ball joints, and tie rod ends, brakes and the RR caliper is hanging up. He was super picky and quoted me $1500 in parts. (in reality its about $500 due to not every has to be replaced). I get back to my sales guy and tell him what I found. Him and his boss go outside and start looking at the truck. They come back in and say we can cover the flaws (clear coat chipping) and have them fixed. But we can not cover the maintence items otherwise we make no money. He said if I want to take 7k trade in on my truck he will fix all the maintence items and put new tires on it. I said no, I would fix it. In the end we agreed on. He then goes, before you sign the papers I can not let the truck go until I get the title. I can get it Monday and let you take the truck home then. I agree and understand what they mean. He said it will have a full detail when you get here. After the papers are signed his boss tells me. I had a ad getting ready for the local Auto and RV for 17,500. So you got a good deal.
I come in Monday and we do the final paper work and he says my son really likes you Ranger. He has a older one and wants a newer style. We are thinking of picking yours up. Thought that was kind of cool. But yet wish his son would have seen it when we where talking numbers lol.

$8k trade in
$15,900 for the truck
They fix the clear coat.

I did all the numbers and it came out legit.

Hope you enjoyed my story. My only advice, don't get suckered into the "what do you want your payment to be" $10 - $15 a month makes a big difference in the overall price. Go by OTD price.

Thanks for the advice Josh!

I will definitely keep it in mind. I'm a little nervous talking about a trade in, its all new to me. I will take your advice and not talk about the monthly payment, etc.

I know about what I deserve regarding trade in value, etc. The only problem is the only truck at a dealership that I found, that was a nice enough truck, is 2 hours away lol. Might check it out this weekend, but I'm not sure.

When I was looking at dealers over a hour away I called them and emailed them pics of my truck and got a estimated trade in value of what they thought. Then I could find out if it was even worth going there.

Of course its going to very after they take a look and drive the truck and you may also change your mind after drive the truck as well.

I just did a lot of searching, seen what trucks where going for from private sellers, went to a few dealers and kind of found out what they are willing to give me for my truck and went from there.

I kind of found out 7-8k for my truck on trade is not a bad deal since most want to give me 6k. I also knew that deisel trucks in my area with 100k on them are going 18-20k. And gassers are around 14-16k with 30-45k miles.

So knowing that and seeing this truck for 15,900 I knew it was below average and I got a above average trade it.

Hope that makes sence

edit - check all fluids, if you have a good mechanic friend don't be afraid to ask the dealer to drive the truck to them. If they deny I suggest walking out.

That makes a ton of sense. I think I'll do somethign along those lines.

Trucks around here seem to be gonig for a lot cheaper, dealer or private sales, they are just much cheaper right now. This is part of the reason I'm looking to "move up"

Same reason I did, trucks are going cheap, but you can get them cheaper then the "cheap" price they already are.

To my suprise when the dealer was packed with people. In the 1hour I was in the building total I did see 3 people leave with new/used cars. He said they are staying steady.

Took the top off and side rail guards. Makes me made this bed rail is not like other normal trucks. It has so many holes!!!

I had to take this off because the clear coat is chipping and the dealer is fixing it. Well I found out why. Its because the dang bed rails wore into it and it started flaking. Defiantly not putting them back on. I think I may have a friend rhino line the rails for me.

here is a pic

Looks better. Definitely needs clear corners and headlights, window tint, maybe pull off that lower valance. It needs something done to get some of that old man look off of there! lol

I want him to put an 04+ front end on it.

It just left my house after being here all day, removed the mud flaps and then replaced the balljoints, drained the front axle, new front rotors and pads. Seems like we did more than that. lol

Hope to see some 15% tint on it soon!

04+ front end is what I meant. Not aftermarket lights, just newer lights.
