actually disconnecting the battery wont stop the air bag from going off. they have capasitors to keep power to em while the key is off. if you wait like three hours after the battery is disconnected they might have drained enough by then. but they are easy to handle if your not dumb about it. all the connectors are designed to ground out when disconnected to prevent static electricity from setting them off and when carrying it keep the bag pointed away from you and just be gentel with it and you'll have no prblems

not a bad idea. i just started wondering if that circut has fuses.... better go look in the owners manual. the only way i can see you setting em off is if you jam a screw driver in one of the connectors or something in that sense lol

NICE!!!!

What'd you end up using for the leds in the cluster? just like mine or plug ins??? I really like how yours is pretty damn evenly lit!! Mines got some pretty good coldspots.

You got any pics of the during process???

Link posted above is the build up of my cluster for those that don't know.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how hard was it?

All you have to do is turn the headlight switch on and it will drain the rest of the power. I think the buttons just pop off though, no need to remove the airbag.

Nicely done, I did similar to my 94's dash with blue 194 LEDs. I will hopefully have the newer dash in this spring, yours adds motivation to do the swap.
