Yeah, it's Oregon Inlet. It's right there before you get on the first bridge to the hippie protection area for the birds.
There was a huge water hole left by the high tide that i wanted to run through. So my roommate jumped in it to see how deep it was and came up to his neck. Decided that was a bad idea.

I think it's like 100mi or more of shore line so there's plenty to wheel on. during the summer it's a little more restricted because of the hippies/bird nesting and people playing on the beach. i'd say about 20mi of it is closed off for that. i think my favorite place is down on hatteras island because it's cut off from the fast food/wal-marts. lots of mom and pop stores. so if you need a wal-mart, you looking at a 2hour trip to find one. Corolla beach has wild horses.
talk to mossyoak03 or xp1ik99 about setting up a meet. I leave Sunday for Iraq or I'd love to set up a meet.
here's a little info on the beaches

Always a nice trip. The truck is looking good. Amazing how different the seasons are down there.
A little further down by frisco when it widens back out there are some decent trails. Buxton Woods Coastal Reserve has a maze of hidden access roads open to the public outside hunting seasons. A lot of them are tight, but way more area than I ever expected.
