Tail Light Mod to end all Tail Light Mods......Pics galore....

You will also need to solder in a different harness, as the L1224R's have a different connector than the stock lights.
For me, that is as easy as falling off a log, but I remember once in my life when soldering actually scared me.

you NEED a good soldering gun if your going to try wiring. Without that your just going to lose. My soldering gun (from radio shack) only cost 29.99 and its a 230W gun with a removable tip. The sucker heats up to 100% in about 30 seconds. I then use a heat gun to put heat shrink wrap on all my connections. It looks so professional.
The trick is to heat up the wires, and then melt the solder by touching it on the hot wires. Don't touch the solder to the gun!
There are only 3 wires going to my tail lights in my 2004. There is
1 Ground
1 Hot for the running light "filament"
1 Hot for the Turn Signal/Brake Signal "filament"
Since my aftermarket tail lights have 2 spots I decided to use one as a 2 wire (just the brake/turn and ground) and the other as a 3 wire (brake/turn, ground and running light)

Not everyone is born with taste...
I just really don't see the point in having super bright tail lights. People are going to think you are braking when you are just driving down the road. Plus for the amount of money it probably cost to do that you could have done something nicer to the truck.

I happen to have some strange addiction with LEDs... I do however get compliments on the lighting for my ranger and my evo all the time...
Every mod that I want, I have done or am in the process of doing.

i think its cool, but deffinatly not worth it to avoid mushrooming. LEDS are worth it in emergency lights because the mushrooming is much more noticeable but for tail lights, that extra half second isnt going to matter because i doubt the reaction time of the person behind you is under half a second.

9LED X 2 Front Corner = 18
60LED X 2 Front Turnsignal = 120
50LED's Domelight
16LED's Under the dash
57LED X 2 Reverse Lights = 114
3LED X 2 License Plate Lights = 6
16LED X 4 L1224R Red LEDs = 64
18LED CHMSL
3 LED "in the Console" Lights
409 Total LEDS (And then there is the Evo....)
I still give you the props because you have an LED dash. This is one I have yet to master but I am very very very wanting it.
