The Ranger finally got some TLC

Heres a few pics from yesterday and my attempt at fixing my coolant leak. i found out my thermostat housing has a crack and needs to be replaced but at least i got to flush the cooling system anyways.

put all back together, got coolant up to temp and its seeping from a seam in the housing. i also suspect an intake leak as well but i wont know untill this week when i put a coolant system pressure test on it. ****!

i also have been feeling bad that the old girl is parked outside now and shes needed a bath badly so today she got a wash, claybar, wax and interior cleaning.

I think it sounds good. Others have told me it does too. The headers work with your stock y pipe, they bolt right up.

they werent that easy to put on but its doable in a couple hours or so. just be careful when you take the stock manifolds off so the studs dont break. the 4:56's are great, one of the best mods if done as far as performance goes. i got all my mileage and acceleration back after going to 33's.

i have questions about the headers too... did you put them on after the exhaust? if so did you notice a difference in sounds or performance?

looks great!

Cooling system issues suck, after just having to do a decent amount to mine I never want to mess with them again. If you still have the original radiator in the truck I'd double check it isn't leaking at the plastic end caps since it will be easier to replace while the cooling system is already drained.

i did put them on after the exhaust and i did notice a difference in sound and an increase in throttle response but IMO they arent worth the price i paid, although they have come down in price alot since i got mine.

i too hate coolant system issues. its seems they are never the same after working on them but according to my scanguage she still runs right around 190-195 degrees so at least its not overheating. my radiator actually looks to be in perfect condition and the coolant that came out was just as clean and green as the coolant i put in it so thats a plus. other than this small leak the systems in great shape..for now. lol well find out this week if i have an intake gasket issue.
