swaping a 89 2.3 for a 95

hey guys i have a 1995 2.3 that's shot and i have a 89 2.3 that i got cheep
what i need to know is can i use a single plug head and just not run the second coil i know that it will throw a code i don't care about that and also
can i just block off the dist or just leave it in with out any connections thanks

It will probably run, but it wont run efficiently. The 2.3 engines are set up for dual spark, and the valves are set to open at a specific position. The dual spark helps burn everything in the cylinder, and if you only run one spark plug, it wont burn everything off. It will run with lower power output and will probably run rough. You could do it if you adjusted the valve settings, but thats a whole bunch of work that would far exceed the trouble of just running both coils.

i am going to use a single plug head not a duel plug head

i basically need to know if i can run a 89 2.3 with a 95 computer i know i have to use a crank sensor
