1990 ranger 2.3 sohc`
bought it got on the freeway and 2 miles later it starts chattering and locks up so I got towed home went out the next morning and it locked up so I turned the crank with a ratchet and it only goes about 2 inches both ways before getting stuck on something... any ideas

the 2.3 lima is a kick *** engine when overhauled with the aftermarket stroker kits
but the seller lied to you , he knew the engine would seize
that ranger is rust free , so it is a excellent choice for a 2.3 to a 2.8 stroker kit overhaul
plus you already have the radius arm mounts , you just need to relocate them more reward and use longer radius arms and a solid axle .
you have so many options with that ranger . you can also add a turbo
just google ford 2.3 to 2.8 stroker kits
or at least have the seller reimburse you some money back
