Well unfortunately my stock muffler finally cracked around the seems so it is leaky ALL OVER. Haha. Sounds like a little rice mobile. So anyway, I'm not trying to so anything fancy, it's a 2.5L and I don't want people to know it lol.

So what muffler should I replace it with? I will probably dump it just to make it easier but I don't want it to be loud and I know "throaty" isn't gonna happen.

Don't say flowmaster please. I'm trying to keep it under $100 and I DO NOT want a loud or performance style muffler. READ MY LIPS, "4 BANGER"!!

Get an OEM replacement muffler. Most all parts stores will carry both direct fit and universal fit aluminized mufflers.

I don't know of anyone that sells stainless stock style mufflers though.

Keep in mind that you'll have to weld it in, or use muffler clamps if the pipes are in good shape.

yeha thrush aint very loud more of a deep kinda growl, but isn't loud when cruising, or a Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler, they are suppose to cut out internal resonance and more of a melow tone, id just go with thrush its only like $26 from AA and the dynomax is $56 also from AA.

Thrush is pretty good...I bought the dynomax for my 2.3L and it just gave it a slightly deeper sound. Most definately no rumble from a four banger. The Dynomax was only fifty bucks and I welded it on with a bracket...good and functional.

Well I got my thrush turbo welded up today. Decided to go with a down turn at the end. No more drone or down rev sounds. Sounds a little quieter at idle just a little less than the old rusted out muffler. Loud when I step on it, quite at normal cruise. PERFECT! Big improvement. +1 to my not junk o' meter

It's not impressive so no hahahaha

It rumbles a little right next to the muffler at idle but I was trying to keep it quite. It's pretty loud revving though.
