94 Ranger heater

94 Ranger heater
New here and have problems with my 1994 ranger. First off, it is a 4 cylinder, 4X4, with 5 speed trans. No air, no power windows or anything like that. Now for the problem. I will try to explain this the best I can. My heater only blows while I am driving down the road. It does blow hot, but only at one speed. I cannot control the speed, but can control where it comes out at. When I stop at a light or wherever, the heater will not blow. I can barely feel hot air coming out. When I start moving the blower starts working again. It doesn't blow real fast, but enough to keep me warm while driving down the road. Here is the weird part. If the controls are off when I start the truck the blower will not work at all, not even going down the road. I just leave defrost on, blower on high, and set on hot. this way at least it works while I'm driving. Everyone I ask about this don't have a clue why it is doing this. Hopefully this is not too confusing and someone can shed some light on this.

Pull the blower motor and check it for a bind in the shaft . Also check the connections on the resistor pack .
While the motor is out look inside the plenum for any debris (leaves , dirt , mouse house...)
Use the search button for blower motor as this topic seems to be getting posted about every day since cold weather started.
And welcome to the forum.
