Icon9 Alternator fuse keeps blowing

94 Ranger 2.3 Please HELP! Im desperate, its the number 16 fuse where the yellow and white wire go to alternator and fuse box under hood.It blows as soon as I start the truck. If I unplug the pig tail at the alternator the fuse will still blow. Alternator was just tested and is good. Does the yellow and white wire go anywhere else besides fuse box? I've done all the tests. Any ideals?

because the pigtail is subject to constant engine heat ,

you will need to pull off the plastic conduit and trace the wires until you find the short

usually a short can be found where the wires bend inside the wiring harness

usually up around the firewall

Yellow/white stripe wire runs from alternator directly to fuse, no splices.
So yes wire is shorted in harness.

check the bend in the harness , should be around where the harness bends from the engine to the fire wall
