Engine Sensor cleaning

Engine Sensor cleaning
I hope this is a intelligent issue! I would like to know if this is ever done. I know that rinsing electronic parts with alcohol is pretty safe and when dried it is perfectly fine. Does this make sense? If your windshield is dirty You clean it right? It seems that the components would possibly just need to be cleaned if they're shown faulty. How could a sensor go bad unless it was fried and wouldn't that be noticeable by the voltage measurements and a major component shutdown?

it all depends. if a component is dirty, cleaning it may solve the problem. for any electronic sensors use electric parts cleaner. for any exhaust sensors, EGR, o2 sensors, etc, i use brake cleaner.
sensors are electronic parts though, they dont need an excuse to go bad. if a butterfly flaps it wings in africa, there goes your TPS!!
