Air coming out of defrost

Hi I have a 99 4cyl ranger and my a/c air is only coming out of defrost...I found the problem and it was that the vacuumball line was broken and I changed it but when I went to check there is another line that is broken and its the silver colored line that it's next to the vacuum line and I dont know where it goes. Can anyone help me please

It goes to your heater control valve.....4 port valve connected to your heater core hoses. If that is leaking vacuum you will see your vents default to defrost in the MAX A/C position.

Well since you don't have a heater core or valve I would just cap off that line.
