Electric Fan
Hello everyone, I am wanting to put an electric fan on my 2.3 lima engine..I know how to wire it and everything but I was looking for opinions on what temperature to set it at.
I have heard that this engine likes to run a little warm so should I put it for 200 degrees or would I be better at 180 degrees? I appreciate any input

I would think 200 degrees would be better than 180. Most stock motors have a 190 or 195 degree thermostat, which would mean your fan would constantly be running, which isn't normally necessary. One advantage of running an electric fan is reducing parasitic loss from the stock mechanical fan, which would be counter acted by the fan running continuously and drawing on the alternator. On my truck, my efan is not on about 95 percent of the time, simple because its not necessary when moving.

my 3.0 has a 210on/200off temp switch from Index Sensors & Controls, Inc.. I had a 200/190 and the fan wouldnt turn off. I have a scanguage and hwy temps rangrom from 200-210, so it hardly comes on at hwy speeds...if it does, I can kill the power to it with my toggle.
