Fuel Filter replecement

Ford Ranger 2.3L 1994. I want to know how many miles I have to go before changing fuel filter. I have changed once in 150K miles, now the truck has 230K miles. This truck has been running beautifully with no issues, I have done most maint. work myself, eg. radiator, water pump, oil changes, etc and I wonder how many miles it can go ... over 300K? BTW, what will be the best oil for this mileage. 10W30, 10W40? I'm in S. Calif. Thanks in advance.

^^^ x2

I'd say stick with a 10w30, no need for a 10w40 in a modern daily driver. A 10w40 won't hurt anything just not the best choice IMO. -Mike-

yea, a good rule of thumb is to replace the fuel filter once a year no matter of mileage. Its very cheap to replace and quite easy and when it packs up and gets too restricted it puts a lot of added stress on the fuel pump trying ot push through all the build up. It's a lot easier and cheaper to replace the fuel filter than it is to replace the fuel pump.

as for oil ive been running Dino 10W30 in my 94 2.3 and I'm at 338K miles now with no engine work...

Fuel filter has been changed out. Opened up the old one, it's pretty dirty. Thanks again.
