Broken Fuel Line

Broken Fuel Line
I have a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT with a 2.3L engine. The gas line from the fuel tank to the fuel filter is leaking. It's made of PA12. I took the bed off and removed the line. Took it to a local shop and they patched it with a metal insert and some clamps.
The problem is that it has to make a 180 degree turn from where it exits the tank in order to be routed to the front of the truck. This causes the line to kink.
Does any one have any experience with replacing the PA12 line with braided flexible line. The line is 6' long. Is this something I could have an auto parts store like NAPA make for me?
Thank you!
