Well, I really dont think im only running on 3 cause i have plenty of power. I have always had an idle problem but now its just a matter of it being a low idle rather than the surge i was having.

Ya, im pretty sure mine will suck this go around too, lots of time spent Idling while talkin to buddies during the winter...

Is yours the 2.3l?

have you checked your fuel pressure at the rail?

no, we were going to run fuel injector cleaner through the shreader valve on the rail, but the shop teacher didn't have the right adapter for my truck. I think what i need to do is run all those test again and see if everything is back to normal, the truck just runs too good for it to have low compresion.

you need to geta fuel pressure reading. this way you can eliminate some potential problems, such as the fuel pressure regulator, which is what i suspect to be your problem. Have you pulled the vaccum line off the FPR to check it for raw fuel?

Ok, well i know that the EGR valve didn't do a thing. so the search continues. i'll try and do the fuel pressure reading at school tomorrow. what else should i be looking for?

tire pressure, sticky brakes o2 sensor MAF ECT ... and on and on, could be a hundred different things. Is it still throwing a code? did you just replace the EGR valve itself? Do you have a dpfe on that year?
