Icon7 What brand of oil should I use for ATF?

This is for 1994 B2300 2.3L Man (243K miles). I have been using Walmart brand ...

you don't need anything special but don't go with wally world brand. We usually use valvoline(buy it in the jugs, it's cheaper) 5W-30 for winter and if in the summer the engine gets really hot we use 10W-30. it takes a lot longer to warm up.

Hell, I would use Ford Motorcraft 5w-30. Ford made it! Thats all I use!! It's even a partially synthetic blend!!

Amsoil synthetic universal ATF. See my posts on my transmission rebuild. This thing looks like new in there.

that is what i would run too. Otherwise run Valvoline which is what I run I dont have any issues with it at all. I would run AMSoil if i could get it at the store.

I've heard good things about Redline and Royal Purple synthetics also -- but I've no experience with them.

From what I read if you are going with synthetic the Mobile 1 is a better than the Royal Purple. Not sure about the Redline. However AmsOil is rated the best.

my friend put that royal purple in his truck, and he said that its better for if u like to race, or if u run ur engine hard a lot. otherwise he said its not worth the purchase

i need to change mine and when i do i am probably going to put in amsoil. worth the extra money to me. eventually i want to have all the fluid in the truck amsoil. some people think it is a waste of money but that what i would do.

You can order it Zach! I have it in the Jeep now, talk about a difference. It shifts like butter...
