swap a 2.5 for a 2.3

Hi, I have a 98 ranger with the 2.5 and a 5 speed. My dad has a 97 with a 2.3 and a 5 speed. His truck runs great even though has a good bit of miles on it and mine runs rough and not as good. my body is good and his is shot. Is it possible to swap a 2.5 and replace it for the 2.3?

yes it is possible just look at connections first like fuel lines and electrical might be some slight differencese in electrical connections pay attention to conectors and change then out and you will have to change out fuel lines that's just off the top of my head the 2.5 runs a higher fuel rail pressure
