Coolant line to EGR on 89 ranger

There is a steel line that goes from heater house to the EGR valve. How do you get to it to replace? I am about to get a grinder out and cut a hole through the firewall. The steel line has a hole rubbed through where it rode on the flange of the oil cover. This is on a 4X4 if that makes any difference.

I got it loose on the passenger side but can't figure how to get the clamp off buried as it is above the oil filter.

I did a patch with epoxy being it wasn't where I could replace it without a bunch of taking things loose. It seems to be holding so far.
