SL questions!

I'be been thinking about getting a SL lately and I know they don't add any ground clearance and the torsion bars look goofy hanging down but. I would like to sit a little higher and I really want to get rid of my 1"BL but I don't want my tires stuffed all the time. I've read somewhere on here of someone working with Dixon Brothers and getting their long travel kit to work with a SL. If that can be done I defiantly want to go that route, as long as it works and its not too weak and breaks. I'm also just looking for more info on the SL and peoples opinions on it.
I have an '02 4wd 4.0L with 4.10's and 33" duratracs.

Well Dixon Brothers is gone. But as for running an LT and a Superlift. BLK02 will be glad to tell you how well that worked. I would get the SL then swap to coils.

Yea. Last I had heard they had gone under. Someone on here said that there was another company developing an LT kit though.

If you plan on doing LT in the future, don't waste your money on a Superlift, just get a $200 3" body lift for now.
That's my plan.

Why do you hate body lifts...?
Super lift will not give you any more travel at all.

I don't like the body gaps or the huge gap down to the trailer hitch.

I hate body lifts when they don't put gap guards on and don't fix the hitch gap, or they cut the valence for tow hook clearance, or they don't paint their rusty frames

So, I hate a lot of trucks with BL's

I currently have a 1" BL and it bugs me but I keep it on so I have more flex without tire rub. Which is another reason why i want to get a superlift so i can ditch the BL.

Lmao all your reasons or not liking a BL can be fixed super easy.
Make gap guards for front a rear wheel wells. No more gap.
Modify hitch, no more space between bumper and hitch
Etc. IMO super lifts are a ripoff for the price.

You get zero more travel, and you still have those torsion bars hanging low.
Just body lift it till someone comes out with a LT kit.

Dunno why so many people are against body lifts when the reasons they hate them are so easily solved.

Of course they are easy to solve, it's just that most people don't fix them.

A BL only gives you more tire clearance, not frame clearance, so the lift you really get is from the tires. And yes the SL gives you more travel

The only reason I would get a SL is so I can get the coilover conversion kit.

What kinds of gas mileage decreases have people seen having put on a superlift?

no, a superlift will NOT increase suspension travel. It does not change any of the suspension componets, its just drop brackets which moves them farther down from the frame, creating lift. no travel increase whatsoever.

I've been reading around and i've seen a few guys switching too 64 leaf springs in the rear. What are the benefits for doing this and how much lift do they provide?

Well Dixon bros has not "gone under" he is just currently MIA, if you can get a hold of him he will build stuff for you, just no cv shafts.

And superlift doesn't gain any travel over stock. IMO just wait for btf to finish their kit and stay away from drop brackets. I can make my truck higher than a superlifted ranger just by adding preload and still have downtravel.
