Word to those who are installing camber bolts

I installed camber bolts last week and followed the instructions that came with them. Very easy to install, so not a big deal. Well, the one thing the directions left out was the fact that the flat, square plate needs to be removed as well (you'll see it fall out when you work on it). Yeah, I didn't remove it because I thought it was a spacer and not a factory lock plate for static camber setting.

So, rather than a 79$ alignment, it's now 301$ for bay time plus labor. F*CK!

I just wanted to get this out there for those installing camber bolts on their Rangers. REMOVE THOSE DAMN SQUARE WASHER PLATES PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE NEW BOLTS!

Yeah yeah.....

I didn't realize that it was the limiting factor in the camber adjustment. I thought the piece that was wedged onto the stock bolt was (it had a metal flange built onto the bolt head that was resting against the channel where the bolt sat in). Oh well......we live, we learn

No because the locking nut is a jam nut and cross threads the outer threads of the bolt as a retaining feature. It completely eats up the bolt upon full removal. For minor adjustments and alignments, it backs off enough to do so without damage..... it full removal is a no go.

On the positive side, all numbers were centered and green this time :)
