All opinons needed on lifts....

ok if you all dont mind we need some opinons on a lift for my 2000 ford ranger.
All that is on there now is just the 16 inch BFG's and I need a lift.
so here is a couple questions.
what kind of lift do you all have on your rangers, do you like it or not like it, where did you get it from and how much did you pay{if you all dont mind enclosing that information}.
We have looked online and all the places around here and so far we havent came up with anything if we did they dont make it for a ranger.
I only need maybe 2-3 inches.
If we dont find anything we are satisfied with my fiance and I are just gonna have to fabricate it.
Any and all responses would be appreciated...thank you.

i just ordered some 3.5" fabtech spindles. It just turns out that i know someone at fabtech so i only dished out 150 for the spindles, but they usually run around 400 but you can order doestch/pro compy for about 100 bucks less. As for how much i like it? it goes on this weekend so i need to get back to you on that.

You should make a sig with the details of your truck.

I think you have a 4x4. Superlift makes a 3-4" suspension lift for around $1,400 shipped. PM me and I can possibly give you a contact for them in your area.

Spindles won't work with the 4x4. You will have to go with a bodylift or the Superlift.

Gil's right be careful if you go with RCD, pulse vaccum hubs will not work with that kit, so make sure you know what you have, saves a lot of money and time.

If you don't have pulse vacuum hubs, I would recommend RCD, it's probably the best 4x4 lift you'll find short of getting something built or building it yourself which could cost a lot.

I don't know any of the technical details about lifts, but I can give you my opinion on them. I have an 00 Ranger with a 3inch body lift, it was already on it when I bought it. I love the way it looks, but wish it was a suspension lift instead.

(if it has a torsion front), You can get 1-1/2" to 2" easily with just a torsion crank on the front and adding a spring to the back. About $80 plus a front end alignment and you are done. Every extra inch of tire height you add will give you an effective 1/2" of lift on top of that.
