2011 2.5'' lifted 4x4 Ranger

Hey guys, as the title says, my 2011 4x4 has 2.5'' front lift (changed and cranked torsion keys).
Now, I have the problem that my OEM Ranchos were to short and are now dead.
What companies make a strut that fits onto my truck, but is longer (3''). Be advised, my strut has a skinny part at the bottom to clear the shafts

Picture for info only (i have the OEM Rancho RS5229)

you dont want longer shocks because your cvs and balljoints will be dead instead of the shocks.
change in preload (torsion crank, torsion keys, coil spring spacer..etc) do not require longer shocks becuase your geometry isnt changing.

the shocks are dead becuase the susp. was not designed to be at that angle at all times and the added preload of the torsion keys causes the shocks to limit droop more violently.

Sorry to hear that....

Your truck is just fighting back due to the pain you are inflicting upon it daily.

i had to fully crank my torsion bars , then use a heavy duty pry bar to get the bottom mounting bracket into position in order to push the bolts through the mounting holes

Looking for a 2" front lift....What is a better ride on a 2008 Ranger . Cranking the torsion bars up, or adding torsion keys? Also would I need new shocks as well??

Youre OEM keys will get you 1.5'' to 2'' lift. And at 2'' lift, the stock length Rancho can handle it, but will give out prematurely

Is 1.5", to 2" increase by cranking up my torsion bars? What is recommended for the back, add a leaf, or block?

add a leaf. ideally you don't want a block at all.

2" crank is the same as having 2" lift from an aftermarket key. Will both ride the same, however if you cranked the aftermarket keys for more height than +2 it will ride even worse yet and cause balljoints and cv's to wear out prematurely.

Ive said it a million times now you do NOT need longer shocks with prekeys or a tbar crank.

Find used keys out of a 2007 and older ranger.

Since you are 4WD - you have the following general options when it comes to lifting your truck:
  1. 1"-2" Torsion Bar Crank = Cost is only an alignment.
  2. 2" Leveling Kit = Waste of money, same as a torsion bar crank - see option #1 above.
  3. 3" Body Lift = +/- $200 + Install
  4. 4" Superlift = +/- $2,000 + Install
  5. Custom SAS = "Let your imagination take control of your wallet"
  6. Purchase my truck = $TBD - PM if interested & have money.
Pick your poison.
