2wd Edge height vs 2wd XLT height
I own a 2007 XLT 2wd 3.0 manual and I have noticed the 2007 Edge 2wd sits higher than my XLT. I have 15" rims and the Edge has 16" rims. The height difference is much greater than the difference of the tires and rims.
What makes the 2wd Edge sit higher than my 2wd XLT?

XLT's have coilsprings up front and all Edges 2wd and 4wd have torsion bars. They were designed to sit about 2" higher from the factory, in addition the T-bars can be cranked to add up to about 3 more inches of lift. They also come with bigger blocks in the rear.

But Seriously.someone i know had a non lifted edge. 4.0 v6 auto. It was taller than my truck by a lil. not by Lift or ground clearance but the body itself was just taller it seemed. also i have a 2.3 ltr manual and i spank it off the line and long run too. Manuals > Auto's :P

Body lift. lol Thats pretty much the only answer without Chucking your wallet at a mechanic. Body lifts are cheaper, and almost easy enough to install yourself, (Although not really advisable unless you know what your doing.) But theres things here and there. like T Bar adjuster tools and so on. larger tires. leaf blocks for the rear,shackles. so on blah blah. but keep in mind, im not too familiar with A arm or Control arm tech if thats what you have. but i think if you lift the front youd have to have it aligned anyways.
So best to stick with body lifts. or you could always pop your buddies tires and hell sit lower from then on.....that outta teach him :P
As for jessie. Rubber spacer or lvling kit for the front. blocks or shackles in the back. i really hate suggesting body lifts. because ive always believed if its gonna be on your truck it better be a positive adjustment to performance. not stock susp. thatyll break but good stuff that wont. If you have I beams. Your suspension lift in the front can be about 400$ less than Control arm setups because DROP DOWN BRACKETS that use the stock pitman arms and beams are common. Not requiring you to replace them unless you want to. Pro Comp Sells a 5 inch lift thats like that for about 1200$ Including Labor Lift Kit Steel Braided Brake lines Shocks Coils Brakets and All That fun stuff Including the Camber bolts and alignment done..

with the 2wd edge, you can tell yourself, "ok, it's not a 4x4, but from the outside, most people can't tell" unlike the xlt's which have about 5+ inches difference between the 2wd and 4wd model.
