Max Spindle Lift

I have been pondering a spindle lift for my truck, but I want a full 6" lift without cranking my t-bars. I know I should consider the RCD kit, but I not too fond of that idea for some reason.

So, I was wondering... what is the max amount of spindle lift I could do without having to change out the CV Joints?

Also, I would be getting a set of custom leaf springs to match. I'm not sure of what the price would be for all of this, but there is an awesome shop here, and I could get it done there.

I'm not sure about the custom springs, but there are several different places on the internet that do them.

I couldn't possibly do a BL... Too many problems afterwards.

Plus, it's a 2wd... I need ground clearance, and a BL won't do that.

well, there's been tranny cooler tube problems, but teh problem aren't the main problem, just the actaul ground clearance vs. just bigger tire clearance.

true, if you have the money then RCD is the way to go for sure. i dont think you can get spindles over 2.5-3 inches anyway, and on a 2wd theres no other way to go higher than to crank the bars, or change the keys

Well, that's why i mentioned the RCD kit... They get 5.5" or 6" of lift with a coilover and a spindle.

So what I was wondering is "is there a reason why can't I get a custom 6" lift spindle made for my truck?"

May be a question for Bob or Griggs

RCD is for 4x4's, not your truck.

just do a body lift and the spidle lift.or just jump into the solid axle swap.your going to end up wasting money if u do the rcd and have custom stuff built.

I found a place that make custom lift leaf springs.

www.valleyspringservice.com

They do some good work, and I have a friend in Tuscon, so he could pick em up and bring em to me whenever I get them made.

I'm gonna get 6" lift springs and get them powdercoated silver.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Will I have to extend the upper and/or lower Arms becuase of the 6" lift spindle??

I know I'll need new shocks and new brake lines, too. Anything Else??

Wow, that's nuts I never knew that. Don't pay attention too much to the 'lifts' so go easy on me, haha.

They make custom leaf springs, which you have in the rear. Where are you getting these custom 6" spindles from?

how are you figuring on a 6" spindle? I put 3" spindles on last weekend and had a hell of a time getting the upper arm back in. How would you modify the lower/upper arms to accomodate that much lift from a spindle? It sounds good I just can't picture it..

I'll have to have longer ones made I guess. Like I said, I have no experience or knowledge about the front suspension. I emailed SuperdutyHeadquarters about it since they do alot of custom stuff like that and they are building a ranger right now.

suspension max has a 3" spindle ($330) and coils ($99), they also have the upper control arms ($273) wich would give you 6" in the front. and you can get a set of leaves from alcan not exactly sure how much they are, but they are cheaper than deavers.
