Passenger Side Control Arm

I changed the driver side control arm and it was one piece, like this:

I am about to change the passenger side and Autozone sold me a part that looks the same, one piece.

I was expecting to get this:

Does it matter? Will it make a difference?

They have phased out the two piece arm used on the passenger side. The one piece is the standard now, and has been used as a factory part since 2003. I don't think you can even buy the two piece arm anymore. The one piece arm will work perfectly fine though.

I have a 1998 4x4. I guess I should have mentioned that... just in case.

I called a local Pepboys and they say they have one of the two piece design. I will check it out later.

Is there any advantage to the one piece design?

I don't know if there is an advantage, but there is no disadvantage.

the advantage to the 1 piece design is that you have 1 less spot for a bolt to break...

The one did not have a grease fitting so I ended up using the two piece style.

Thanks for the info.
