Shock Install

I just bough some bilsteins for the ranger. I have no experience with fixing trucks but was told that installing them is fairly easy. Is this true? Anyone have a how to on it?

all four?? just, leave them bound up until they are installed, then cut them loose.

they are a b-i-*** to try and compress while you under the truck...

other wise, its all straight forward...

if you leave them bound-up they may not be long enough to install. i always bolt-up the top first then cut it loose while holding them compressed and slowly let it out until the lower end is in place/position to slide a bolt into it...then tighten-up everything.

My bilsteins finally came in hopefully I can get em on this week. Any other tips? A friend of mine said use white lithium grease. Is this necessary?

maybe on the rear shocks on the rubber bushings so they slide on easier, ut i would use wd40.

you wont need to jack the truck up i nthe rear to do this. just the front.

piece of cake, like Zack said no need to jack up the rear but I had to jack up the front several inches so i could pull the shocks out. Maybe 2 hours total for all 4. I didn't use any kind of lube on the install.

When we did mine, I think we unbound the shocks prior to the install. It may have made the install take longer, but it was still all pretty easy and straight forward. Nothin to worry about.
