4 wheel parts and superlift kit

Hey.. I called up the local 4 wheel parts store on my lunch break to talk about ordering up the 4 inch Superlift for my 99 ranger. I had asked them if they would check inventory in their warehouses to see if any are in stock.. they did, and none were in stock. They then called up Superlift themselves to check to see if they are in stock, they called me back and they have none in stock. And basically, they told the salesman at the shop that once they get orders in that's when they will produce more of the kits as needed. They said 5-6 weeks, but the salesman at 4 wheel parts told me from experience with superlift that it would more likely be 10-12 weeks. That kind of sucks, because it's hard to want to drop 1600 on the counter and not see your product for 2-3 months. I had heard that Superlift has been going through some problems, and their production is limited but still are in business. I would like to know if anybody knew of any other places that stock the 98-99 Superlift kit. I know on Summitracing.com they estimate end of December for shipment on that same exact kit, so i assume it's the same situation as 4wheelparts... none on hand. I know alot of members on here have the kit, i'd like to know where everybody bought theirs, and if you had experienced such a waiting for it. Thanks guys!

I would stay away from 4wheelparts at all costs, but that's just me.

Yeah, I have heard that from a few people now. My friend ordered up a kit for his 98 Dodge, they told him 5 to 7 days, he's been waiting a month now with poor customer service each time he calls there. I know there are places online to order, and i might call around seeing what they have. But, i have been looking locally first, and all we have around here is a few places. I talked to a guy who was selling his 2000 Ranger with the superlift kit on it on craigslist, he said Les Schwab did his. I called all the local Schwab shops just to see if they would get me the kit, they said that they couldn't because it doesnt comply with their insurance policy of being able to fully and competly allign the vehicle after lift. We have a Randy's Off Road, and Olympic 4 Wheel Drive, neither of them said they would do that kit on the Ranger. I plan on doing the lift myself either way... I just need to get one. If I have to wait for awhile for one, then that's what i'll have to do i suppose

I bought my Superlift from Tennessee Offroad; it came off project "Ranger Resurrection" from the television show Xtreme 4x4. I ordered a few Superlift parts about 2 months ago and I had them within about a week. When I ordered them I was told they were on backorder for a month.

Called SuperLift at the beginning of the week asking about the hold up and was told they are having trouble getting parts from their suppliers.
Right now they are waiting for the Spindles, Nick at ORW said they are waiting for other parts so who know what's happening for sure.
I have been waiting 2 months and it looks like I am going to have to wait another 2 weeks at least to get the lift.
At least it is paid for...

Sandy, Yeah. I have called around 5 or 6 different shops, of course nobody stocks those kits but all of them were willing to call up Superlift and find out what's going on. I had already talked to Superlift personally on the telephone, They said 4 weeks, and i had the suspision that that wasn't going to be the truth. I have gotten different answers from every shop that's called them up for me. 4 Wheel Parts said that they said 5-6 weeks, but according to the salesman he said their past experience dealing with Superlift, it'd be more like 10 to 12. They told ORW that they will be shipping kits this week. Another shop said 2 to 3 weeks. Where did you order your kit from Sandy? I'm just curious. They have 10 percent off Superlift at 4WPs right now, i was going to order my kit today. I still might, but I hate the fact of dropping that much money on the counter, and not seeing product for a few months. I have also read on here from alot of people that they have sent incomplete kits a number of times

I ordered from 4wheelonline, they had the lowest price at the time.

I was told up front that is was going to take 8 weeks to get the kit, the 8 weeks has passed and I thought it was 4wheelonline but according to SL it is them.

SL asked to keep the faith and all order would be filled so I am hoping.
Me too on the money up front thing but at least the kit will be paid for and you can just wait without worrying about paying again.
I still am waiting for other parts to go along with the lift kit so I am not worried YET.

Oder now so you will be in line just in case the kit stops.
I can see where SL is only making the kit after the orders come in, they don't want to be left with kits on the shelf after Ranger is dropped from production by Ford.

Luck,

Did you by any chance get in on the Coil-Over Setup Buy, seems like a good upgrade to the T-Bars on the Ranger ?

I will probably be ordering from 4 Wheel Parts.

I am already expecting to be waiting until well after the new year to receive the kit, but like you said. I still need wheels and tires, need to find some sort of replacement driveshaft, i need to buy an alignment cam kit for the front end.

They are asking 1500 something with the 10 percent discount at 4WPs. I might as well just pay the entire kit, and wait.

At the rate it will probably take the kit to arrive, I might as well save up some more.. get 4.56's front and rear, 3 inch PA and wait for the Superlift. and just run 35's this summer.

I haven't heard anyting about the coil-over set up buy, I'd like to know more about it.

Well, I'm not going to say anything bad about 4wheelparts, I have honestly never ordered from them. But i will, regardless, the kit is coming from the same exact place, Superlift.
