Squeaky shocks???

Every time I hit some rough spots in the road the under-side of my truck starts squeaking. I took it in to my mech. and had him check all of the suspension componets and he said they were fine. No worn-out bushing, etc. I'm thinking it's the shocks cause they are from a newer manufacturer ("SuspensionMax"). Anyone else experience squeaks from sh*tty brand shock?

My lift isn't more then a year old yet. They shouldn't have failed that quickly, right? How about my shock theory? Could it be the shocks?

It could be just some dirt somewhere around the shock or its replacement time..

I'm thinking about replacing my shocks...but damn...I'll be kicking myself in the *** if that's not the cause.

It's possible that they could squeak, but shocks don't usually make noise. They just don't work as well over time.

Check all of the shocks to see if they are leaking fluid.

Rock the truck up and down to see if you can replicate the noise and maybe track it down to a specific area.

Sorry to tell you, but sqeaking is much more likely to be ball joints than shocks.

Nick - I'll update this post just as soon as I find out where the squeak is coming from.

My truck squeaks like crazy and it is the polyurethane sway bar end links and mount bushings. I can hear it going over bumps.

Check the sway bar. You may need to put some grease where it connects to the frame and arms.

could be the torsion bars too.. spray some wd40 in the front and back of the bar where it connects to the LCA. get it inside the "hex" hole in the arm.

I rocked the truck but couldn't replicate the noise.
