or do a add-a-leaf
about 5 months of the year i haul about 300 pounds of sand in the bed for traction and i haul a 5x10 trailer frequentley loaded with about 1500 to 2000 lbs. i also have beltech shackles sitting in my closet now but not installed yet. dont want to crank t bars so i did not install them
also i wouldnt mind a stiffer ride in the ***. my shocks are also probally shot. they for 115k km on them

yeah.. those are shot shocks for sure if the vehicle has seen alot of towing adn such...
Not to be biased, but with the weight your looking at putting on adn carrying throughout the year.. perhaps you may be looking at tossing some KYB MonoMax on the rear? It will be a little stiff t first, but it wont cause any sagging with that 300 lbs.. and help alot with that towing too.

Get some better shocks to help the ride out. I got 1.5" out of my 2" chevy drop shackles....that might help you out in the leveling department, espicially since you already have them.
You mgiht even consider an air bag type of spring helper....or.....get like C rated rear springs. I believe that's what the factory "heavy" towing pkg came with.

swaping out the springs would work but around here they want 120 for each leaf pack used. and they are off a 2003. i think i have k springs now. will check later. i really dont need much lift just a heavier spring and maybe a little lift. trying to do this on the cheap. any other option i can do.

I have the same problem, My rear end sags with the cap, and also I keep fire gear, some tools, a jack, and some other stuff, probably a couple hundred pounds back there. I am also looking for a cheap way to do it, chevy drop shackles seem like the cheapest way right now, do you have to crank the t bars when you install the shackles?

those spring assited shocks seem like the winner if your wanting to stay on the cheap...
1.. you get new shocks
2.. you get a better load carring capacity
3.... I had some similar on a scout... empty that sucker rode like a wooden roller coaster, throw a 700 LB ELK in the back or a 1200LB trailer on the ball and it rode like a sedan...

add a leaf... my shackles made my springs go kinda limp and flat.. but mines also a 2000 but still i only have a tool box with no more then 200 pounds of tools but it is also up against the cab so it doesnt effect the springs to much
add a leaf from fabtech or superlift might do the trick and definitaly new shocks
