Icon7 Advice on lifts!!

I have a 1996 ford ranger xlt. And I want to get a 3-4" lift. I'm pretty inept when it comes to this stuff. So any advice or guidance would really be helpful. I love my little ranger. Lol also the process would be nice to learn. And if it's something I can do myself. My boyfriends a mechanic so if we can skip taking it to a shop and paying for the labor that'd be awesome

Suspension lift or body lift? The body lift is cheaper than a suspension lift but a suspension lift will allow for more suspension articulation than the body lift. The most popular body lift around on R-F is the performance accessories kit which is 3 inches of lift. I know that rough country and pro comp make a suspension lift kit. Suspension lifts will be a little more expensive but if you have the money, it's definitely the way to go. Hope this helps a little.

It is easy to do if you have the tools. But be carful. Suspension is nothing to play around with there is a lot of tension in springs and things can get very dangerous if you undo things in the wrong order. As far as learning there are all kinds of books on suspensions and I suggest reading them. Even if you don't use the knowledge it's nice to have.
