Yes you will absolutely need an alignment afterward. You also should get new slightly longer shocks that are listed for 0-2" of lift. You can get by without new shocks but I wouldn't recommend it.

Ok. i was gonna post my own thread or search but this seems like my exact question here (sort of). I am planning an overhaul from front to back of all suspension. not doing super expensive parts but am looking for that little extra height (coil spacers!!!)

what you are saying is that its bad to run a 1" or 2" coil spacer on normal SPRINGS? or SHOCKS? since these terms are used so interchangeable (even though different parts) i just wanted to be sure.

THANK YOU

It can be bad on the SHOCKS if you run spacers underneath your COIL SPRINGS. Reason is sometimes they aren't long enough and will sustain damage. This is unlikely, however it is always suggested to purchase new, appropriate length shocks anytime ride height is changed (in this case by a spacer).

In your situation, new slightly longer shocks should be purchased.
