Maxtrac Coil Requires Aftermarket UCA
Hi All,
I'm a transplant from the Explorer forum, where I learned pretty much everything I know. Everything translates pretty easily to Rangers with the exception of coils, obviously. I'm looking to remove the coil spacer I put in a when I go the truck and replace coils with the Maxtrac 3" set (part #753030-6). The fitment guide says aftermarket upper control arms are required. I'm wondering how that could be since they mount on the lower... Do they just say this to cover their bases since the angle on the UCA will be more critical? I searched up and down to find related info on this. The Ex forum also frowns upon creating new threads without searching so I made sure to do the leg work first.

you have upper and lower control arms
aftermarket 2 wheel drive upper control arms are longer and push the top of the tire out more when lift coil springs
that is what they mean
you are probably due for new control arm ball joints anyway
just purchase the ac delco professional grade control arms as they use genuine spicer ball joints instead of the crappy moog joints
