What's the best drop shocks for a DJM 4/5 drop, in your opinion. State your reasons too.(prices would be a plus)

I have the Belltech Nitro 2. they worked well i guess, but i do wish my ride was better, but i guess that is the price you pay for lowered trucks. I think they are $40 each.

grants selling one, you cut your frame and put in a notch so that your axle sits IN the frame (well under the notch)
https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ch-oregon.html

this is the easiest picture of a notch i can find, its the C shaped part sitting over the axle on both sides.

Oh haha! Maybe when I get some money later on. It'll be fine with the 5in drop in the back right?

You'll hit the bump stops regularly if you leave em. I just took mine out, almost never contacts the frame, except when loaded.

As far as shocks go, I'm running the KYB Gas-A-Just shocks all the way around, and let me tell you, the improvement over the crappy Toxic shocks was massive! It actually rides like stock again. And I took measurements, the KYBs listed for a stock application, are the right lengths for a 4/5 on the front, not sure about the back, since I have a different shock setup. But heck, you could just get KYBs for the Nissan on the rear.

And one other side note, Alan, that pic you posted ain't a bolt on notch, this is.

with a 5 inch drop out back and untrimmed bumpstops it puts you about a half inch away from axle and bumpstop.

even with pancake ones it will still hit, with a bolt in notch it gives you alot more clearance and no worry of hitting them.

and alan thats a full c notch, not a bolt in notch
