Steering extension is too short.
I'm in the middle of installing a 3" body lift on a 91 Ranger 4x4 4.0 5sp. The cab is lifted but the steering extension isn't nearly long enough. I need it to be another half inch longer. My steering shaft doesn't seem to have any kind of adjustment in it. I've been trying to get the cab a little bit further forward but am having a hard time getting anywhere with it. Besides, the cab is right where it's supposed to be anyway. Atleast the gap between the cab and bed is the same. Anybody have any ideas?

Well as of last night the lift is done but the steering extension is still too short. I guess for now I'm just going to put a bolt through each hole(Which are supposed to be lined up together) and find a way to tie the two bolts together so the steering shaft doesn't fall out.
No one has had any similar experiences during installation?

That's true. It was performance accessorries. I hope they're open on weekends.
Strange thing is that I read somewhere that a two inch bl doesn't require a steering extension but a three inch does. Which would make you think that there's only one steering extension so it's not like I was being sent the wrong one.
But if that info was wrong then that all means nothing and I could have the wrong part.
Edit: They're closed on the weekends of course so I've sent an email and given them my phone number.

Problem solved. Apparantly there is some adjustment in the part that extends out from the firewall. However, it wasn't mentioned in my Chilton manual or the lift instructions and I had already tried pulling on it several times. Got fed up with it this morning and used a ratched strap to assert exessive force. Which is exactly what it needed. It broke loose and gave me the extra adjustment I needed. Will post pics after I get some.
