Front end questions

I don't know how to phrase this question so please bear with me. I am wanting to get input on the pros and cons of the modern A-arms and T-bar front suspension vs. the older d-35 TTB in 4 wheel drive. Things like wheel travel, traction capabilities, dependability/strength. Sock it to me if you have any input. I am thinking of going with a older ranger for my camping/exploration adventures based on bias info from a TTB fan. I drive alot of different terrains i.e snow, ice, heavy rains, mud, sand/silt, rocky and uneven terrain, steep dirt hills.
Just wanting some input if you can help.

theres more wheel travel with ttb but i hear it can be a ***** to work on compared to just a arms and t bars. much cheaper to lift ttb though and if i could have my choice between my hybrid d35 or a d35 ttb i'd take the ttb anyday. i wish i could have that in my 02 fx4, that would be lovely.
