Torsion bar problem...
Hey guys. I have a slight problem and was wondering if someone could give me a few pointers. I have an 04 Ranger and recently had the desire to raise my torsion bars and level my truck out some. So I pull the truck around back, jack it up and crawl under.. Well, to my surprise the torsion bar adjuster bolts are rounded off. I'd like to take these bolts out and replace them.. How exactly would I go about doing this? I figure I can't just pull them out... Theres got to be a list of precautions I need to take.. Like I said, all that I want to do is replace the adjuster bolts.. And I know I can get them out, but are there any tricks to it? Or can i just take em right out? Thanks!

DO NOT TRY AND TURN THE BOLTS OUT WHEN RED HOT!!!!!!!!!! I found out the hard way a few weeks ago when I had my friend try and take mine out. It just twisted right away and broke off. They will need to be heated with a propane torch at minimum... And with propane for at least several minutes. The bolts have blue loctite on them but it's the rust that will make it difficult.
Once you can get the bolts to turn it is very straight forward and easy to do
